In nove volte Campione americano Ryan Villopoto sarà al via del Campionato del Mondo MX 2015 per il Monster Energy Kawasaki Racing Team.
Dopo aver vinto il titolo del Monster Energy FIM Supercross per quattro anni di fila il 26enne, da sempre pilota Kawasaki, affronterà la nuova sfida per portare a Kawasaki il primo titolo mondiale della classe MXGP affrontando i 18 rounds previsti in quattro diversi continenti.
Ryan Villopoto: “Sono pronto per il mio nuovo obiettivo. Non ho mai guardato ai record, così come si è presentata questa opportunità di correre contro i migliori piloti del mondo, in rappresentanza degli USA, ho accettato. Devo vedere come andrà, sarà una grosso cambiamento di vita, ma sono molto felice di questa opportunità e di far parte del team in cui ci sarà anche un ex Campione del Mondo (Tyla Rattray ndr). Lui sa cosa serve per vincere e potrò imparare molto”.
A fianco di Villopoto nel Kawasaki Racing Team nella classe MXGP ci sarà Tyla Rattray. Il 28enne del Sud Africa ha vinto il titolo della MX2 nel 2008 prima di trasferirsi negli USA.
Per Kawasaki Motors Europe, il Racing Manager Steve Guttridge ha dichiarato: “Ryan Villopoto è una star a livello internazionale e vederlo in azione in giro per il mondo sarà un privilegio per tutti i fans.”

Nine-times US champion Ryan Villopoto will contest the FIM MXGP World Championship for the Monster Energy Kawasaki Racing Team in 2015, while Jordi Tixier will defend his MX2 world title in Green.
Having won the Monster Energy FIM Supercross world title for the last four years, 26 year old Villopoto, a loyal Kawasaki rider throughout his professional career, will take on the challenge of the world´s premier outdoor motocross series with the intention of bringing Kawasaki their first World Championship in the MXGP class; the worldwide series will host 18 rounds on four continents in 2015.
“I am ready for the next chapter in my career and to accomplish new goals,” said Villopoto. “I’ve never been one to look at the record books so when an opportunity like this comes around, to race against the best in the world and represent USA, I have to see it through. It will be a major change of pace, but I am extremely excited about the opportunity and also to be joined by a former champion like Tyla (Rattray).
